Older Women and Housing

ACT Shelter seeking input into research for a project on older womens’ housing vulnerability in the ACT – PLEASE HELP BY TAKING THIS SURVEY

About the project

ACT Shelter Inc is conducting research into the housing needs of women in the ACT in the later part of their lives.

We are inviting women who are single (with or without children), aged 45 and above, and who don’t think they will own their own home outright by the time they retire, to tell us your stories.

From mid-March we will be conducting a survey, which can be found at the link above or hard-copies are available from ACT Shelter Inc.

We will also be running focus groups and interviews in April.

The information we receive from women will inform a report to government about how the ACT can strengthen its response to the housing needs of older women in the ACT.

Any information gathered will be used anonymously and treated confidentially. The report will be launched in mid-2014.

If you are interested in participating in this project or would like to know more information please contact the ACT Shelter Women’s Project Officer on womensproject@actshelter.net.au or (02) 6247 3727.
